The Verdict
Moxy’s Rooftop Bar is the latest addition to the Gold Coast’s rooftop bar scene. Creating a space that fits nicely between a thumping nightclub and a formal restaurant, it’s a place to come together, enjoy some drinks, have a nibble, and take in live music and DJ sets. Headed up by local culinary and entertainment legends, Simon Gloftis and Billy Cross, when visiting Nineteen at The Star expect a fanciful 110-seat modern Australian restaurant overlooking The Darling hotel’s luxe infinity pool with wrap around views of the shimmering Gold Coast skyline.
Featuring a floor-to-ceiling cellar with a doozy of a wine list (think: 500+ bottles), the restaurant adjoins a swish-as-hell lounge bar complete with a six-star fit out and staggering capacity for 500 guests. Nineteen at The Star also boasts lavish private dining areas and another exclusive 80-person seat VIP bar that’s connected via an internal stairway.
With Simon plus long-term team member and incredibly talented Head Chef Kelvin Andrews leading the charge, this landmark produce-driven restaurant is pushing the Gold Coast foodie boundaries to all new levels of incredible. Bringing everything they’ve learned to the table, come for dishes like grilled Patagonian Toothfish, roast highland duck with foie gras, steamed coral trout with fresh ginger and, their signature dish, an amaze-balls rock lobster bolognese (stop it!).
Ed's note: For a limited time, Nineteen at The Star is offering an incredible two-course, sommelier wine-matched lunch for $79pp (Wednesdays through Sundays from 12pm), so you can be an absolute baller at your next date.

When it comes to savouring a delicious cold drink, the atmosphere can make or break your experience – and the cool breezes and sun-kissed vibes of rooftop bars can’t be beaten. These clever spots have tapped into the fact that the coast’s weather is poppin’ practically year-round, utilising stunning outdoor spaces (and views) to make your drinking experience that much better. Pop on that SPF, bust out your breeziest linen ensemble and soak up this list of the best rooftop bars on the Gold Coast.
Burleigh Pavilion, Burleigh: Nabbing a seat out on The Pav’s sun-kissed, ocean-bound outdoor bar is like striking gold – so once you’ve secured a spot, hold onto it and settle in for the ultimate seaside sip-fest. Enjoy it all while watching the waves roll in across Burleigh Beach. Does it get much better? Nope.
